Locals Loot Liquor Bottles After Delivery Vehicle Overturns in Chittoor
CHITTOOR: Chaos broke out near Basireddypalli village on Saturday after a commercial vehicle transporting a large consignment of liquor lost control and overturned on the highway. Word of the accident spread rapidly through nearby localities, prompting a large crowd of local residents to rush to the crash site. Bypassing rescue efforts, villagers quickly swarmed the damaged vehicle and began looting intact liquor bottles and intact crates directly from the cargo bed before police could arrive. By the time local law enforcement reached the scene to secure the area and disperse the crowd, a major portion of the consignment had already been carted away by the opportunistic gatherers.
