Gujarat Wins Top Honours Under PM Surya Ghar Scheme
Delhi: During the announcement of national awards under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, IAS officer and MD of GUVNL Shalini Agarwal stated that Gujarat has secured five top honours for its exceptional performance under the scheme. She highlighted that under the guidance of the state leadership, including the Chief Minister and senior officials, Gujarat recorded the highest number of installations over the past two years. The state emerged as the top performer across all four categories set for 2026—applications, installations, vendor registrations, and inspections—transforming the initiative into a widespread public movement. She further emphasized that Gujarat continues to lead the nation in renewable energy adoption and is well-positioned to maintain its momentum in advancing sustainable energy initiatives.
