BJP’s Samik Bhattacharya Slams TMC Over Internal Rift
Delhi: West Bengal BJP President Samik Bhattacharya launched a sharp attack on the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC), stating that the people of West Bengal are unconcerned about the party’s ongoing internal issues. He alleged that the Trinamool Congress has strayed from being a genuine political party and has instead turned into an organisation driven by corruption. Criticising Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, he claimed that she projected herself as being above the Prime Minister and governed the state as though it were separate from the rest of the country. Bhattacharya further remarked that the current infighting within the party is a direct consequence of such an approach. Emphasising the importance of a strong opposition in a democracy, he said that the present situation in West Bengal reflects a lack of responsible leadership, adding that the internal conflicts have weakened the party to the extent that it is struggling to maintain unity.
