Border Fencing to Curb Infiltration Attempts, Says DG Vijaytosh Mishra
Bhubaneswar: Highlighting growing security concerns along the eastern frontier, DG Vijaytosh Mishra stated that the installation of fencing in previously uncovered border areas of West Bengal will significantly reduce illegal infiltration. He noted that several stretches along the border earlier lacked proper fencing, making them vulnerable to unauthorized crossings, but ongoing efforts to secure these gaps are expected to strengthen border management.
Mishra further pointed out that due to the proximity of the international border with Bangladesh, there is a likelihood of increased attempts by infiltrators to enter Indian territory. In this context, he emphasized the need for heightened vigilance and constant alertness among security forces to effectively monitor and prevent such activities. His remarks underline the importance of strengthening border infrastructure and surveillance to ensure national security.
