Hyderabad Cops Raid 562 Lodges in Massive Security Crackdown Under Operation Kavach
HYDERABAD: To thwart the movement of anti-social elements and fortify internal security, the Hyderabad City Police deployed nearly 5,000 personnel for a massive, coordinated midnight raid targeting 562 hotels and lodges across all seven zones of the commissionerate. Personally supervised by Hyderabad City Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar, the intensive two-hour operation, codenamed ‘Operation Kavach’, focused on verifying guest registers and validating identification cards, particularly in high-density hubs near Nampally railway station and Ameerpet. Following the citywide dragnet, Commissioner Sajjanar issued a strict mandate ordering hotel managements to physically verify government IDs, ban room rentals to minors, install 24/7 high-definition CCTV surveillance, and prepare for an upcoming Digital Visitor Management System, warning that non-compliant establishments will face severe legal prosecution.
