UP Launches Mega Plantation Drive on World Environment Day
Lucknow: On the occasion of World Environment Day, a statewide plantation campaign under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative is set to be launched across Uttar Pradesh, aimed at promoting environmental conservation and public participation.
As part of the programme, several key initiatives will be undertaken in Lucknow, including the establishment of the ‘Maharshi Charak Aushadhi Van’, the launch of the Uttar Pradesh Clean Air Management Project, the unveiling of the logo for the Vriksharopan Mahabhiyan-2026, and the notification of 100 wetlands across the state. These efforts are intended to accelerate the state’s commitment toward ecological preservation and sustainable development.
Following these events, development projects will be inaugurated and foundation stones laid in Balrampur, particularly in the sacred region associated with Maa Pateshwari, further advancing welfare and infrastructure growth.
Authorities have called upon citizens to actively participate by planting trees, emphasizing the collective responsibility toward protecting nature, honoring the motherland, and contributing to a greener, cleaner, and more prosperous Uttar Pradesh.
