Major Fire Erupts at Tyre Manufacturing Unit in Ghaziabad’s Sahibabad Industrial Area
A major fire broke out at a prominent tyre manufacturing factory located in the Rajendra Nagar area, within the prominent Sahibabad industrial belt of Ghaziabad. The incident, which occurred during the early morning hours, triggered widespread panic across the industrial zone as thick columns of black smoke and massive flames engulfed the manufacturing facility.
Emergency Response and Containment
Upon witnessing the rapidly spreading flames, factory workers and neighboring unit operators immediately alerted emergency services:
- Rapid Mobilization: The Sahibabad Fire Station received the emergency distress call at approximately 7:30 AM. Given the highly combustible nature of the raw materials inside the facility, firefighting teams were dispatched to the location without delay.
- Firefighting Operations: A fleet of four specialized fire tenders was deployed to the scene to combat the blaze. Firefighters strategically surrounded the structure to prevent the intense flames from spreading to adjoining industrial units and neighboring warehouses.
- Successful Control: Following rigorous efforts by the emergency personnel, the fire was successfully contained and completely extinguished. Ghaziabad Chief Fire Officer (CFO) Rahul Pal officially confirmed that the situation was brought fully under control.
Casualties and Safety Assessment
Initial assessments from the site brought significant relief regarding the human toll of the accident:
Official Statement: CFO Rahul Pal confirmed that all factory personnel and workers present during the morning shift were safely evacuated, and no injuries or loss of life have been reported.
While the workforce escaped unharmed, the factory sustained heavy financial damage due to the destruction of premium tire stock, rubber processing machinery, and related industrial infrastructure. A structural safety review and a formal inquiry are being initiated by authorities to determine the exact cause of the blaze, with a preliminary suspect being a potential electrical short circuit within the production wing.
