BJP Launches ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ Drive on World Environment Day in Bihar
Patna: On the occasion of World Environment Day, Bihar BJP President Sanjay Saraogi said the party has launched a nationwide tree plantation initiative titled ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam,’ encouraging people to plant a tree in the name of their mothers at every booth across the country.
He noted that plantation drives are being carried out across Bihar, with people dedicating trees to their mothers and ancestors as part of the campaign. Highlighting environmental progress, Saraogi stated that the forest cover in Bihar has increased to around 15 per cent, compared to about 7.5 per cent before 2005.
Calling for collective responsibility, he urged citizens to take a pledge on Environment Day for cleanliness, tree plantation, and environmental protection. He added that the Bharatiya Janata Party is actively conducting the campaign across Bihar to promote awareness and participation in conservation efforts.
