Ministers and MP Inspect Visakhapatnam Steel Plant Accident Site
A high-level delegation of union and state leaders arrived at the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant to inspect the site of the devastating industrial accident. The visiting team included Union Minister for Steel and Heavy Industries H.D. Kumaraswamy, Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu, Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha, and Visakhapatnam Member of Parliament M. Sribharat. Their joint visit was organized to conduct a first-hand assessment of the steel melting shop unit where a catastrophic ladle explosion and subsequent molten metal leak occurred, resulting in multiple fatalities and critical injuries among the workforce.
During their ground inspection, the ministers and the member of parliament thoroughly examined the damaged facility and met with senior plant management, safety engineers, and local administrative officials. The leadership team reviewed the ongoing emergency rescue operations and discussed the preliminary technical findings surrounding the structural or operational failure of the container ladle. Both the central and state representatives emphasized that establishing the exact cause of the disaster is a top priority, reiterating their commitment to enforcing stricter industrial safety protocols to prevent such industrial tragedies from recurring in the future.
