Health Alert Issued as Kedarnath Yatra Sees Heavy Rush
Rudraprayag: The Health Department in Uttarakhand has been placed on high alert amid a heavy influx of pilgrims during the ongoing Kedarnath Yatra. Authorities have intensified medical preparedness to handle emergencies and ensure timely treatment for devotees visiting the shrine.
Critically ill and injured pilgrims from Kedarnath Dham are being evacuated via helicopters to nearby locations such as Phata and Guptkashi for advanced medical care. In severe cases, air ambulance services are being deployed to transfer patients to AIIMS for specialised treatment.
Officials said the surge in footfall has led to increased health-related incidents, prompting the administration to strengthen emergency response systems, deploy additional medical teams, and maintain round-the-clock monitoring to ensure the safety of pilgrims undertaking the yatra.
