TVK Minister CTR Nirmal Kumar Predicts “End of DMK” Over Coalition Fractures
CHENNAI — Tamil Nadu Minister CTR Nirmal Kumar launched a scathing attack on the DMK following its absence from the opposition INDIA bloc meeting, predicting it marks the definitive end of the ruling state party. Speaking in Chennai, Nirmal Kumar claimed the DMK only secured power because minority voters trusted the presence of the Congress party in their alliance, asserting that without Congress backing, the DMK would struggle to cross even 25 assembly seats. Addressing why his own party, the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), skipped the bloc meeting, the Minister stated that alliance factors require deeper discussion and higher-level confidence building. He noted that while the Congress and IUML have extended valuable support, further multi-level deliberation is needed before finalizing their alliance strategy.
